Aphrodai A Robot Toys from Mazinger Z
Fans of the television anime series Mazinger Z as well as American fans of Tranzor Z from the 1980s remember the robot's female mechanical sidekick. She was Aphrodai A in the Japanese version and Aphrodite in the US version of the TV show. She was piloted by a young attractive woman named Sayaka Yumi (aka Jessica in Tranzor Z) who was the daughter of Dr Yumi who created the robots. Aphrodai A had a prominent role in the Mazinger Z series as the robot's companion. Male fans tend to remember the character's weapons of mass destruction the most: Aphrodai A was most famous for her breast firing missiles.
Despite possessing memorable weapons, Aphrodai became powerless only after her two fires against her monstrous nemesis so Mazinger Z would constantly have to come to the rescue. The mechanical damsel in distress robot survived through most of the series until she was later destroyed by one of Dr Hell's monsters. Aphrodai A was replaced by more advanced feminine robot Dianan A that included a motorcycle component and head beam in addition to her breast missiles.
Today, anime fans in both Japan and the United States can buy collector's quality action figures of these famous feminine robots. These toys of Mazinger Z's female companions even include functional breast missile projectiles that actually fire. So these aren't meant for children who can accidently blind each other from a potential misfire.
